Bruce Dabney's Yazoo Dragster
Bruce Dabney of Fairlawn NJ sent pics of his two karts. The one on this page is a 1958
Yazoo Dragster.
The Yazoo Dragster was manufactured in Jackson Mississippi. Bruce bought this kart from the original owneres - 2 brothers who these days are avid vintage sports car racers/collectors. They said they bought this kart in Lodi NJ in 1957 (though 1958 or 59 seems more likely). They raced it only once in a 15 lap event then stored in a barn for 40 years.Bruce bought it in sept 98.
Kart has original decals and stickers (refers to kart as Yazoo Dragster Blackhawk,
though I've never seen reference to the Blackhawk name in any Yazoo ads). Mechanicals have
no wear. Tires are original - Firestone gum-dipped up front, Goodyear midget racers at the
rear. Engine is MC-10, sprockets are 9/86. Bruce couldn't find diaphrams for the original
carb so he replaced the carb with a Tillotson.
