The Hill Country Kart Club in New Braunfels, TX (just nort of San Antonio) has a 'run what you have' class that allows the old vintage karts.
I haven't been there for a couple of years, but talked to Tommy Muth (Texas Karts, San Antonio) recently, and he says there is gaining popularity with vintage stuff, so they might even be running races with them.

Guessing people are getting fed up with Chinese 4-strokes, and Tag (Gag?) karts.
