Does anyone Have a source for west bend parts beyond eBay? I'm looking for a pull handle. You can see the style on the right side engine.

Among the suppliers West Bend used for recoils starters was Fairbanks-Morse.  To me, it looks like that's what you have.  If so, you should be able to obtain parts from any mower shop that has F-M parts (I assume they supplied other engine mfrs, not just WB).  They're still in business, http://www.fairbanksmorse.com/

I suggest calling Bob at Bob's Lawnmower Engine Service, 607-638-9297.  That man lives and breathes small engines.

You could also contact David Fillman, david@fillmanmachining.com.  The last time I spoke with him, he had plenty of F-M recoil starters.

The WB580 was used on thousands of "jumping jack" soil compactors (tampers) over the course of a few decades, so for WB580 stuff you may also have success calling places that sell parts for that type of equipment.

Thank you! I appreciate all the sources. I'll ask about a few other parts when I order the handle.

That's the same pull as was used on the early Power Products engines which also used F-M recoils. If you can't find one let me know, I should have a few. By the way, with the pull gone you're probably going to have to do a spring rewind...fun times.
