Hi All,
A couple items before the bulletin:
The caterer is also offering a half price picnic option for kids under 9 years old. They can have a smaller chicken breast or a hot or hamburg if they choose as well as all the other yummy stuff that will be there. $6 at the concession stand.

There will also be a full practice on Thursday starting at 11:00AM for the extra $15. You will also be able to register early on Thursday starting at Noon.

Here is the 3rd bulletin regarding safety and class designations, please read carefully if you are attending:

Safety:
First off all karts must pass a VKA technical spec before being allowed on the track. Below are some high points of the inspection: For complete requirements, see VKA guidelines for 2017.

1) Karts must be generally track worthy and safe appearing to the inspector.

2) All fasteners in the steering and brake systems as well as all axle nuts must be safety wired or cotter pinned. This is a must.

3) Any outward facing oil clutch used on a rear or side engine kart must be equipped with a third bearing support OR a containment device which will prevent the clutch from getting loose from the kart in the event of a crankshaft breaking.
Here is the VKA guideline:
“A third bearing support or guard to contain the clutch in the event of crankshaft
breakage should be on all Rear and Sidewinder karts using an oil bath outboard
mounted clutch (toward the outside of the chassis). Construction of clutch guards
must be of a material equal to or greater in strength than .090” aluminum.”

4) All rear engine karts must run vintage tires (See VKA tire rules)

5) All sidewinder kart modern type tires must stay within VKA guidelines.

Please note:
We are only allowing American fan cooled engines in the 6.1 and 8.2 rear classes.
Sorry if I didn't catch that.
