I have one of these also. I've been trying to find out for years what it is. I always get no response.
Come on guys, someone must know what they are. I've seen pictures of other ones over the years and it seems noone knows about them.
They had McCulloch or Tri-Star wheels and mine had a Mac 91 on it when I got it in Cummings, GA
HELP, HELP, HELP

Does ur have the cage around the motor compartment, it looks like it might have been added to this one, and I’m wondering about the side bars also. Although that’s a different diameter and might be original. Let me know I’m glad you tagged me, wel get it figured out. Thank you . Pat

Pat, you are correct. The engine cage on your kart is not original. The side bars, however, are original. They are on mine and I have seen them on the few others I have seen pictures of over the years. One time, someone thought it might be a kart offered by Bird Engineering in the late 50s/60s. I'll post a couple pictures of mine when I can get to the place where I store it. It is a cool looking kart but some past posters commented that the frame is too rigid to race well. ...Ron

Pat, do you have the rear axle assembly? If not, no problem, it is a very simple assembly and readily available and easy to replace.

Disregard my comment about the engine cage. I just found 2 more pictures of the kart and they both have the engine cage. Google Images Bird Engineering Go Karts And you'll see them. Looks like they were build by Bird Engineering...Ron

Here is one pic of my Bird Engrg kart. "fully dressed". The engine, the gas tank, and the upholstery is what makes it "pretty". I will send a couple more pics....some "naked" so you can see the details on the rear end.

Another link to a build of the same kart with a harbor freight engine. https://www.diygokarts.com/community/threads/bird-engineering-kart.22166/page-2
If you PM me, I can still text or email you a detailed pic of the rear axle mounting and brake if you wish...Ron
