To respond in order of your questions: Yes, I converted to a modern disc brake. I felt safety was more important than originality so I installed a modern disc. Yes, that is an MC90 Mac. It is a Scott Kneissel rebuild/resto and it runs beautifully. A gentleman in Buffalo, NY - Mike Schlager - repops the seats and does a beautiful job. His work is flawless! Yes, I moved the steering post to the top of the hoop. That little bit of added height makes a world of difference in driving comfort. Not to be wasteful, I machined the steering post bushings from the original axle in the kart, then welded them in place. Another thing: I went with an aluminum floor pan even though the original one was steel. The original was solid rust and dents and beyond repair, so I cut if off. After taking a lot of pains to get the chassis straight and square, I felt that welding in a new steel pan might warp it out of shape again, so I decided to make one from aluminum and pop rivet it in. It's not original, but I think it looks good that way.
