walter1.jpg (49505 bytes)

This 1969 Rupp Enduro Model-K: with Chaparral fuel tanks, owned by 7-time I.K.F. National Champion Jim Walter, of Elyria Ohio, was presented to him by Mickey Rupp in 1969. This kart was made especially for Jim for winning the 1968 National Championships in Batavia, New York.

This kart is powered by the original 1970 McCulloch MC 91B's. Each motor has two Tillotson HL264C carbs mounted on GEM V-12 manifolds. It is also equipped with the original Horsman   Slip-O-Matic' oil bath clutches and Margay expansion chambers. Tires are Goodyear Blue Streaks with the Rupp G.P. knock-off hubs.

Jim still owns the kart, has recently returned to karting, and ran it May 1, 99 at the Mid Ohio Sportscar Course for the first time since the 1970 Enduro Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park. He finished 8th in a field of 15 in the Unlimited Class. The kart had not been raced for almost 30 years. Jim will be racing this kart again July 30, 31, and August 1, at Mid Ohio.
