Barry Sullivan's McCulloch Kart
Barry Sullivan of Montreal, Quebec acquired this kart in 1993 from a friend who had bought it several years earlier at a garage sale. Barry and his son have managed to get the kart running and have clocked it at about 40 mph. They ran it on Sundays at an industrial park and at a shopping center, but eventually were asked by the police to stop due to the high noise levels. The kart is powered by a West Bend 580 with Tillotson carb through a Go Power manifold, stuffing block and six-sided reed plate. Sprockets are 11/85 tooth. It uses a 4.5" dia internal expanding brake which Barry describes as not very effective, fading on moderate use.
He has been told the kart is a McCulloch M400 ( I'm not able to make a positive ID. Can anyone help?). Besides info on the kart, Barry would also like help finding parts for the engine.
