Can someone familiar with shipping a kart Greyhound please enlighten me as to what's necessary for a safe shipment. The kart would be a complete Fox kart less motor.
Will Greyhound ship a complete Kart?,if so, what kind of protection (protective covering) would be best. Is partial disassembly and separate shipping of certain parts like the wheels, seat, etc. a wise thing to do?.

I have used Greyhound several times and have never had an issue. I usually get a few large bicycle boxes from the local bike shop or Toys R Us. I take the wheels off and usually the steering wheel off too, and put them in boxes to place on the seat and floor pan and secure them down. Then use the 4 bicycle boxes to wrap/cover the kart (2 in front & 2 in rear)and lots of packing tape to enclose the frame in cardboard. Then drive it to the local bus station and its usually to the destination in 2 to 4 days; depending on where it's going. Good luck.

The toughest part is to try and get the boxes before Toys R Us crushes them. I've since gone the bike shop, and they're glad that someone can use the old boxes.

This is my first post here but I saw the Greyhound word and I had to post. I just had terrible experience with them. I had something shipped via GPX and after 2 months I finally threw in the towel and gave up. The package is basically untrackable and you are at the mercy of the driver as to weather he chooses to get off of the bus and unload your parcel. I will never consider using them again. Just my opinion and others may have had better luck.
