yesterday i finally got around to posting items on esteal.
it's time to sell stuff and spread it around a little.
the forum got it's chance with alot of it but i need to hit a bigger market.

i listed some go kart parts.
a couple sold pretty fast on B.I.N so i figured to get addresses and get shipping done.
i owe mike reller a box so i'm posting today anyway.

i see theres a notification from esteal.
they bounced 18  vintage go kart listing i made yesterday.
seems by posting with the words vintage kart west bend AND mcculloch i violated a listing policy.

so now i'm in WTF  land
seems you can only list the name of company that made the part not what the part fits.
since it's a tilly carb part it fits both.

then i see a mcculloch and mc7-91 mc30-101 was bounced too.
i just don't see what that one had that was wrong.
it's a super stuffer that fits all those models.
they bounced heads i had listed with fitment too!!!
another WTF

worse i am risking getting bounced from esteal forever if i relist without serious changes that i can't see how to do.

theres a number to call it's sunday and i have free long distance.
i call , they tell me that i can't use multiple companies.
i explain about vintage kart parts.
please wait

after a long time they come back and read the west bend u.s. 820 side plate ad.
i explain west bend became chrysler motors then us motors and they all built the exact same motor.
so the west bend part fits ALL the motors.
a biiiiggg pause then please wait.

they come back and start in on an azusa hub.
i explain that they fit about every go kart ever made.
they start with the rules say i can only list one company.
i then said how come with car parts you have an interchange page specifically set up to list in multiple places if the part fits different manufacturers.
another looonnnng silence then please hold.

they came back and tried with can you change the ads?
i said no way that'll work.
i told them that they were gonna cost Esteal serious money if they can't fix this since aftermarket general fitment parts are a huge part of any motorized anything
i warned them i'm a blogger with a big mouth so i'll be posting the rest of this wacky ride as i get info.
Now
they've decided maybe i have a case and maybe it can be fixed.

upshoot is i can't relist anything till they decide what to do.
Maybe some good will come of this but if it's esteal as usual they'll make a bigger mess.

All this so they can clip me nearly 20% in fees.
rrrrrrrrrr

Dave I don't get it. On the listing page, people do multiples all the time. The first thing I saw were two old West Bend mufflers listed:  Vintage Kart West Bend McCulloch R.E.A.R. Tilloston Horstman Max Torque Hartman So how did they get away with this? These have zero to do with anything listed except West Bend. I'm beginning to think eBay personnel are mentally ill. TJ

my take exactly.
i can separate ads by price and find literally hundreds of ads exactly the same.
i think they let power sellers have a pass.

another bit though , esteal asks that if i see ads that are possibly in violation please tell them.
just like craigslist.

if it's true esteal owns 25% of craigslist they may be using the same code spiders that just start flagging everything if they find one bad ad.
i had listed several hartman nuts for sale and was told i couldn't do that either.

regardless it all is a pain.
i have several hundred parts i wanted to list and now i can't.
it took me hours to list what i did and i'd hoped to list multiples on small parts that i have dozens of to sell.
well in a day or two i'll know.
this wiped out any chance i had to scare up extra cash so i could go to camden next week end.:(

Welcome to the wonderful world of ebay. Run by complete fools. Prepare for a shock when you get your billing invoice.

Dave,
I have experienced the frustration. A couple months ago I listed what I thought was an AZUSA sprocket hub. Someone messaged me that it was a Rupp so I changed the listing to "Rupp, Not Azusa" and It got pulled and all the BS threats about suspension plus forfeit your listing fees. When I looked at about 100 other listings they had multiple names and I'll bet there are some now. Selective enforcement or total incompetence.

i just heard that putting commas with no spaces make everything one word to the nazi retard computer that checks.
i guess to it one word MUST mean one manufacturere.
so now i'll be posting it this way

vintage kart sprocket,made,by,azusa,fits,rupp,mcculloch,westbend

will report back if it works

Hi Dave. I have got suspended right in the middle of auctions with active bids for using more than one BRAND name in the title. This is a random act. Not all the violators get removed. eBait will be glad to sell you a sub-title line where you can say whatever. Example, if you listed a "NOS Chilton Tank Rupp Bug Kavalla Percival", This would be removed if the monitor caught it. If you listed "NOS Chilton Tank as used on Rupp Bug Kavalla and Percival" this would not be removed because it is part of the description. Phone numbers in the text are a no-no too. some get caught some don`t. Sometimes a one word title (Mc91) and a two word description (Good condition), will sell just as fast for more? Take the Tutorial and then you`ll see what real F*#"ing JERKS they are. The fine folks at eBait wouldn`t know a vintage kart if they all tripped over it nor would they care. The point is, play the game and take the money. You will never find a more lucrative market anywhere than right there on your computer. eBait is a complete disaster, but it`s the only game in town. Phil

There's always a space after a comma or a period (except in numerical notation) in the English language, at least that's what Sister Mary Handslap taught me.

yep that's why the computer can't see what was done.
i looked and the varients are
mcculloch+westbend+margay
mcculloch.westbend.margay
mcculloch-westbend-margay

seems anything with no spaces.

just talked to Chris s. he told me anything over 100 listing in a year or money over 20,000 triggers another problem.
esteal will send an IRS form and you have to show profit/loss statement.
proof of original purchase price ect. ect.
luckily (i guess) with the harley stuff at least i'll be losing money!!!

Hey Steve. If your brother lists the bulldozers & backhoes under a catigory of eBait Motors, Thats a whole different set of rules as well as consequences. eBait does turn in income when you reach 20.000 but last year it was 200 listings instead of 100. They could just as easily make it 2 listings and 20.00. Their probably getting a big kick-back from the IRS anyway. Then theres that other can of Worms` Pay-Pal. Phil.

simple he did my commonest mistake.
he did relist simular to get the screen faster then forgot to change the title.
ebay takes forever if you follow their page selection order.
hitting relist simular goes directly to sell page.

that happens because they have 1/2 dozen subprograms running.
they are sending everything you do on ebay to various sites paying ebay to collect your data and habits!!!
