Steve,

The Fox wheels were called Lemans and you're right, they came with 4 inch on the front and 5 inch on the back.

I have an extra set of front 4 inch restored Lemans wheels that I can trade with you.

Please send a picture or two to me.

Steve,

I only have 4 inch magnesium Lemans front wheels and it looks like you need the steel or aluminum outer halfs in 4 inch. Most people replaced them with either 5 inch steel or a complete set of Lemans mag wheels a long time ago. Keep looking because they're out there but not easy to find.

I almost forgot, the wheel manufacturer was Dico.

The 1961 model Go-Boy had 4 inch front and 6 inch rear Dico wheels. I'm assuming that they were aluminum on the outside and steel on the inside but some karts may have had both sides out of steel. The 1961 Mak-Kart came with 4" front and 5" rear Hands wheels. All I have is the sales literature showing this.

The 1962 Go-Boy had the Lemans wheels and the Mak-Kart also had the Lemans wheels. The seat area on the Go-Boy had welded in place steel to hold the upholstery. The Mak-Kart had the plastic satellite seat system. I also have the sales literature showing this.

One thing everyone has to remember is that Fox was making 1961 and 1962 karts as fast as they could. They built 3,500 1961 model Mak-Karts/Go-Boys. This information came from the purchasing manager who is still living. In reality I would suggest that they built whatever they had for parts at the time.

The model with the single rigid center mount is the A-Fly . It came with a salami style tank mounted on the seat back. There was also a model made for Gamble-Aldens department store that was similar but had a single center mounted swing mount and a floor mounted tank. These are rarer since they only took delivery of 1 truckload of karts I was told (Chuck Niles) and all were sold/disposed of in the Chicago area, not even making it into their mail order catalog.

Here's a pic. The ads always showed it with a PP AH-82 on it, but that would make it a B-Fly.
