its the only thing ive used for yrs ...it just better grade of steal .it has copper and tiny bit of chromium mixed in it.... so it only surface rust then builds its own corrosion protector . i have 4 x8 sheets of 20 guage  mild steal core 10 tin .   it works perfect for floor pans seat backs ..   also whole bundles or indv. 20 foot sticks of .065 tin wall mild steal tubing also core ten its not chrome moley but like i say ive used it for 30 yrs or more ..

It's Cor-Ten. A weathering grade steel first developed for bridges and other architectural applications.

yes sir  thats the proper spelling .i think its mainly manufactured by u.s. steal .??   is it true it has tiny bit of chrome in it  or just copper .. ?? i bought it from a factory that built loco motives .. merged with Co. in canada and couldnt get it  across the border ..??     so they said ...     i like it for my shops because it dosnt rust to bad settin around ...i dont use it very fast so ive always bought  it .. it welds ok too.  with basic er70s and  225 argon mix ..  or 7018 for the thick stuff ..
