recently i learned an IMPORTANT button function on this forum.
it's called the ignore member button.
to use this button you push the ignore member button over one of their posts.
just like magic
the annoying member dis appears and is regulated to silence on you computer.
if you want to see what he's posted you can push a button that will appear where his post is in the thread.
why you might do that is outside of my understanding but this is a free country.

nah,
i was just talking to a friend and he told me i was now beat for being the king of long winded posts.
of course most of my posts make sense and have merit to guys trying to restore their karts.
but possibly i could be annoying other people.
soooo then i thought maybe somebody should tell you guys about the ignore button to save your brain from freezin up reading those long winded posts.
especially if they aren't making any sense or are being whinny.
just a thought in case long winded posts start annoying you to distraction.

Dave, I actually enjoyed seeing a record being set on this forum, the most words used to say the least. As far as vintage karting goes little was said. But in regard to who might say what, it was insightful. It had the letters to the editor feel of small town papers. Sort of liking watching a train wreck.

Silent confidential offers were all that the seller ever requested from post one #1 . How soon memories fade & the true record gets contorted Last edited on Sun Jun 10th, 2012 01:54 am by Christ Holtz

christ ., the first picture is as you already no a caretta kart with a margay gearbox .. im no expert on carettas but there very popular high dollar kart when restored correctly .. yours has been kinda ruffed up .. its had tubes added to make it have a longer wheels base .. prolly for a big tall guy .. not sure whats on it for wheels or what came on them .. theres guys on here noes alot about them hope maybe someone chimes in id like to learn more about carettas myself .. also looks like theres a set of rear azusa light wheels .. the black plastis ones ..i see a go power wheel cant tell if its fron or rear and a chilton 7 qt. seat back tank most common on a rupp .. i think art ingels mighta had something to do with carretas .???

Steve,
that carretta was basically junk.
the expert i won't name who builts exact copies said it was to far gone to bother with.
a perfect restored carretta can go for big dollars but you already have spent big dollars restoring it so it's a wash.
his parts from the few pix he bothered to provide look pretty rough.
at the very least the karts weren't stored well so many motor parts are probably rusted internally.
again i have to guess as the seller refuses to post decent pix.
my guess is he's a picker who either bought an auctioned off rental space or somebodies stuff outta a barn or estate sale.
regardless his ignorance in kart parts would make it hard to determine whether theres any decent stuff in his pile.
i had rated his parts as worth around 600 each or so.
in a p.m. he sent me he indicated that he felt vintage karts were worth between $4000 and $5000 for repops.
his theory is that his parts being used are worth 1/2 that number.
As we both have zillions of karts and parts i kinda hope he does get that kinda value.
then at least on paper we'd both be rich!!!

Enough is enough.
I was really hoping you were going to come down off the cross at some point, but I can see that's not going to happen.
You could have just blown me off, or told me to go pound sand and then STOPPED there, but instead you entertained (and bored) us with endless rants and ravings about the wrongs that may or may not have been committed against you by me or anyone else that cared to comment.
The ignore button has been pushed.

While I'm glad there is an ignore button, I have to confess in my "crotchety" middle age there are times I wish there was an "ugh" button... life is too short to have to deal with some people's crud. It's amazing how some folks can use a ton of words to say nothing.Last edited on Sun Jun 10th, 2012 04:32 am by Dean Seavers
