Get ahold of Scott Kneisel out by Rochester NY. You'll find his PM info under the members list. Great guy and great engines.

Recently had Scott K rebuild a Mc6 for me . His reputation is well deserved. A great experience from start to finish.

Have to say Scott is aces.
i've pretty much always built my stuff always.
but after chatting with scott i had him build six mc10 clones's about three years ago.
one got sold before i even saw it.
the rest were nicer than new.

he's built multible engines for me since and he's as good as they come.
i thought i was anal about details but Scott just makes me look silly.

i traded a mc10 for a mc49 he built.
it had never been started.
first pull the floor mounted gas tank line was full second pull the motor fired right up.
on alcohol we were doing one pull starts the whole weekend.

we ran in b-ville this year took second overall.
granted my driver was an excellent driver and a light weight.
but he was running against guys with serious expensive modified motors and they just couldn't stay with him.

Scott measures and inspects every part and bearing he installs.
he pressure checks the motor and sets the points with a degree wheel.
he tests all the wiring and then he details the motor to death.
Don't know what he charges anymore but it'll be worth it.

Van Gilder motors are stupid fast.
i am trying to get a pile of dis assembled ones i found in the possesion of an older racer guy up north.
he's a hourder though and money doesn't mean much to him.
so far negotiations are dead in the water but if the guy ever decides to sell i'll have about twenty to rebuild.

I too am one of the lucky ones with an engine built by Scott.  He literally brought my mud filled (no kidding) Mc-20 back from the dead and it looks fab and goes like stink.

Super guy as well.

Kudos, Mr K!

I appreciate the kudos guys but unfortunately I need to take my name off the list for now. Totally swamped and need to cut back for personal reasons. Van G., Bill McCornack, Terry Ives, Paul Booth, all kinds of great engine builders out there. I am  sure one can be found to re-build an Mc91.
Signing out for now,
Scott

Probably nobody wants to rebuild a 91 unless they know it's a decent one to begin with. A lot of them are total junk. There are lots of good people who can rebuild a 91 confidently. Building a fast one that stays together is a different ballgame, Sonny Gerber seems to be the master of the fast 100cc Macs judging from what I've seen personally. Steve O'hara is another guy with the knowledge.
I do my own Mc-10s and built a couple for old Haddock first just to make sure I get all mine right!

Tom,
i count 21 mc10's broken down there.
you still got me beat but i'd say between yours and what i have they ain't as rare as i thought!!!
i have maybeee 14 or 15 at best of those mc10's.:P
of course if i piled them like that and my ole lady saw them there'd be trouble.
she'd jest skin me alive no excuse would stop her!!!

There is one company you have forgot about and yes we are still doing motor work Hub Distributing does the name Neil Keller ring a bell one of the founding fathers of WKA in hall of fame was head of tech and wrote Wka tech manuals for years. He builds a wicked fast motor no matter what type and we will be starting to run some vintage stuff soon.
