Hello everyone, just picked up 2 vintage karts and hopefully I can get some info....I am trying to get 2 vintage go karts running, both with Mcculloch engines, 1 with an MC70 and another with an MC75. 1 carb had the needle valve body with a rubber seat and the needle valve metal throughout, 3 carbs have needle valve bodies with no seat, but the needle valve has a rubber tip. Carb numbers are 47821, (the one with the rubber seat) 48890A, and I have 2 others 48890B, (those 3 have no rubber seat) Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated....I have been racing cars here for years, but am really not familiar with these Mcculloch engines. My question is..does the rubber tip on the needles take the place of the rubber seat that was in the body of the 47821 carb, or are they all supposed to have rubber seats in the body. Thanks for any and all help.

yes, the rubber tipped needle in an all brass seat is an upgrade over the earlier type of needle and seat with the rubber doughnut in the base of the brass seat.
