Hi All,
Below are the classes that will be run at Avon as well as some example questions that might help explain where everyone fits. If you have additional questions, please respond to me and I will do my best to answer.
Hope you all have a happy 4th!!
Scott

Avon 2017 Class Structure  (note: class 1-5 are the same as all the NE series classes)
Class 1   6.1 Rear    3 heat scored
Class 2   8.2 Rear    3 heat scored
Class 3   6.1 American Sidewinder    3 heat scored
Class 4   8.2 American Sidewinder    3 heat scored
Class 5   Yamaha Stock Appearing    3 heat scored
Class 6   Yamaha Limited    3 heat scored
Class 7   Clinton, Round Head West Bend    3 heat Tier II
Class 8   Historic & Mc49    3 heat Tier II
Class 9   Up to 87 Sidewinder Any Engine    3 heat Tier II
Class 10  Junior (if enough participation)     3 heat Tier II

Example Q & A

Question: I usually run in sportsman rear, where will I fit this year at Avon?
Answer: You would have 2 options this year, if you want to run a scored class
you can enter 6.1 Rear, traditionally the majority of entries in this class have run
a dry clutch and box muffler anyway. Your second option would be to run in
historic class for a Tier II flagged event.

Question: I have a sidewinder with 820 West Bend, where will I fit this year?
Answer: You would fit in the 8.2 sidewinder scored class.

Question: I have a 6.1 straight axle sidewinder, what class would I run in?
Answer: According to the NE series class structure you would be running with the
6.1 sidewinders but to even the field you can install modern tires to be
better matched with the X frame karts and may even have a weight advantage.
If not comfortable with this situation, a separate non scored class may be offered.

Question: I have a dual engine kart and do not see any classes for duals…what gives?
Answer: Unfortunately this year we can only run 10 classes total due to time constraints.
Since in past Avon events, only 2 or 3 duals have ever shown up so we
will not have any dual flagged events this year. We will however have time in the
structured practice for dual engine karts so informal dicing can be arranged if desired.
