Hi everyone! I’m new to karting and trying to put together a vintage (new build) kart and looking for a little help.

Frame is pretty well complete, and starting to think engine(s).
I have a MC 91 (CYL P/N 65913) that likely needs a rebuild and parts, but also would like another one to sit beside it.

Can anyone share advice on how to go about having the one I have rebuilt, maybe a ballpark cost, and how do I go about locating a twin?

I’ll likely have more questions, and hope to learn!

Thanks for your time,

Loren

Hi Loren,
Welcome to vintage karting! I would suggest starting out with a single engine. There is a good article on vintagekartforum.com for rebuilding McCullochs. If you want to contact a rebuilder go on the Vintage karting Association website and there is a resources section with contact info.Terry Ives in Ca and Bill McCornack in Wisconsin are the 2 main Mac builders. It could be cheaper just to buy a rebuilt engine ready to go or a good used one known to be in good condition.

I agree with Tom.  You'll be busy enough keeping one running.
