I found 2 derelict karts in my brother's back yard. He's constantly buying and selling interesting old stuff. Even he doesn't know why sometimes.

He says he bought these karts from an aquaintance who actively raced them in the sixties. When the racer finally decided to divest, my brother took the best two of 4 karts.
I've done some research here and on other sources. Based on specs and pictures, I believe one kart is a mid sixties Rupp Grand Prix. The other looks like a similar vintage Rupp Lancer. The primary tip-off is the two piece frame on both. I'm guessing they're both either 1964 or 65.

The Grand Prix is in better shape than the Lancer. Interestingly, the Grand Prix appears to have a fully chromed 2-piece frame. I haven't read anything about such a frame from Rupp. It has the Rupp turbine wheels, 5/8" steering shaft, chrome large fuel tank, Nassau panel with the Rupp name plate.

Here is a picture of the Grand Prix. Comments?
