50/50 solution Clorox and water, soaked overnight,..completely submerged. Light bristle brush scrub, then rinse. If it's had heavy sun exposure, some of the UV damage may not be reversible. Once clean, check for cracks,...UV is a killer on vintage '60s and '70s plastics, which tend to become brittle with heavy sun exposure. If you're not using the tank immediately after this cleaning process, soak liberally with WD-40, inside and out, until ready for use.
