he did say that i remember. the only thing is he was making a point not quoting exact prices. to RESTORE a kart is a money loser. to rebuild the kart into a dependable racing machine doesn't have to be. heres my take if you have ANy mechanical skills at all.. rebuild just one engine they aren't to hard to do. it costs around 500$ if you have someone else match the bore to your piston and you buy all new bearings,seals and gaskets and a piston. figure about 200 less if you have access to a hone and can use it. clean up the frame and spray bomb it don't go the restoring route. assemble the kart and run it. the guys who go restoring their karts have the time and skills to do so. that doesn't mean you can't fix your kart and make it track worthy. just like in street rods with rat rods you can have a rat kart. i'm not exactly rich so that's what i do. my karts aren't pretty they may never be but they run really well. dave
