Don Box's Dart A-Bone
Don Box of Dallas TX recently acquired this kart from Hernan Gonzalez after seeing it posted here in Readers' Karts. (Don, this is getting to be a habit. That's also how you found that Caretta you bought last year.)
Hernan Gonzalez of Dix Hills NY had owned this (Rupp) Dart A-Bone since new (1960). It sports an MC8. (The MC-8 dates to 1963.)
This is Hernan's description:
It was given to me new in 1960 by my parents. I raced it three times at Blitz Kart track
on Long island NY and stored in the garage for 40 years. Kart is metallic blue with no
scratches, dents or rust. Black seat is in mint condition with no sign of wear, rips or
cracks. Emblem on the seat is in perfect condition. Kart still has original tires, brakes
and chrome gas tank.
